Amicus is designed to be used in three primary industries of Retail, Hospitality & Fuel. Within these primary industries we have separated the functionality in order to better suit individual business needs. We call these separations "Editions". Some customers may also wish to install multiple editions which cover multiple industries. If you would like more information regarding this, or if you are unsure that you have the correct edition for your business, please contact your dealer. Summary of Editions
· Retail
As Amicus is primarily a point of sale system, retail components are inherent in all editions. The retail specific editions allow users to access all* the core functionality of Amicus. They are ideal for businesses with a primary focus of selling a variety of goods or services to their customers. Retail editions are defined as follows;
· General Retail Edition – This edition is designed for small to medium sized businesses, with a medium sized product range.
· Supermarket Edition – This edition is designed for medium to large sized businesses, with very large product ranges, that may be required to perform thousands of transaction per day, per till.
· Hospitality
These editions are designed for businesses with a primary role of selling food and beverages to their customers. Hospitality editions are defined as follows;
· Café Edition – This edition assumes that customers will order and pay for their food prior to receiving it and that there is no requirement to track table numbers or diners.
· Restaurant Edition – This edition includes all* the functionality available in the Café Edition, with the added ability to create Areas and Tables. Menu items can then be added to specific diners on a table, or to the table itself. This edition also allows for greater flexibility of payment, with partial or full prepayments, separation of bill by diner(s) or item(s).
· Fuel
This edition is designed for businesses with a primary role of selling fuel products to their customers. It allows interaction with external fuel hardware such as fuel pumps and hoses. It allows users to monitor and interact with individual hose activity, without leaving the sale screen. There is currently only one fuel edition.
Add On Functionality
This is functionality that is designed to extend the usability of Amicus, but is not a part of the core industry releases. These ‘Add Ons’ include;
· Amicus PDA – Allows access to Stock Control and other functionality, in a mobile device.
· Amicus Stock – A simple stand-alone program to assist users in the preparation of stock takes and stock ordering tasks.
· Amicus SmartDocket – Allows access to Restaurant Edition functionality, in a mobile device. Can be deployed on PDAs or devices similar to an iPhone (Wide Fly).
· Meal Order Delivery – Allows access to delivery features in hospitality environments.
· Meal Order Service Screen (Kitchen Screen) – Allows a summarised display of all ‘open’ hospitality orders, including course and item status information in a touch screen environment.
· Report Viewer – This application allows the user to run Amicus reports externally from an Amicus installation.
· Amicus Sync – Allows synchronisation of data between different sites of a business. This highly flexible tool allows all or partial data to travel in a single or both directions between nodes. An example of this is that Customer and Product information may be pushed out from a head office to stores, while stores may push only sales transaction data up to the head office, resulting in all sites having the same customer and product information, but only the head office will have access to global sales information.
· Storefront – Allows the business to set up an online store that shares customer, product and order information with Amicus. Can be configured to create and print picking reports automatically for online orders and also simplifies the billing process.
