About layouts and the Layout Designer
ACT! Premium for Web Server includes contact, group, and company layout designs that you can choose to display. You can change the appearance of layouts by adding or modifying fields and objects and adding images or logos, so that information displays as you like.
Layouts are shared among all users in the database, and only administrators and managers can define layouts.
If you have layouts from a previous version of ACT!, you can convert them through Tools/Convert ACT! 3.0 - 6.0 Items or convert them by opening the layouts in the Layout Designer. For information about converting layouts through the Tools menu, see the Customization Tour.
To help you learn how to use the Layout Designer, see the Customization Tour.
