Restoring databases
To restore a backup copy of a database
To complete this procedure you must have the appropriate permissions assigned to you. For more information, see About user roles and permissions. |
From the File menu, point to Restore, and then click Database.
In the Restore Database dialog box, select Restore, and then click OK.
In the Restore database (.zip file) box, type the path and name of the backup file you want to restore, or click Browse to locate it, and then click OK.
If the backup file is protected by a password, type the Password, and then click OK.
Type your User name and Password to log in to the database you want to restore, and then click OK.
To restore a database to a different filename or to a different location
From the File menu, point to Restore, and then click Database.
In the Restore Database dialog box, select Restore as, and then click OK.
In the Restore database (.zip file) box, type the path and name of the backup file you want to restore, or click Browse to locate it, and then click OK.
If the backup file is protected by a password, type the Password, and then click OK.
In the New database name box, type a new name for the restored database. For help, see Naming a database.
In the To location box, type the path or browse to the folder where you want to save the restored database.
Type your User name and Password to log in to the database you want to restore, and then click OK.
