Managing the Sync Server connection information

An Administrator or Manager user for a remote database may need to change the information if the server is not detected by the remote database, or if the port number of the Sync Server was changed.

To manage the Sync Server connection information

  1. On the remote database, from the Tools menu, click Synchronization Panel.

  2. In the User Tasks box, click Manage Connection Information.

  3. In the Sync Server Connection screen, do one or more of the following:

  • To change the machine name, in the Enter Machine Name of the computer hosting the Main database field, type the name of the machine.

  • To change the port number, in the Enter the Port number being monitored by the sync server field, type the port number.

  • To change the connection type, select one of the options. If selecting Internet connection type, in the Enter the URL or IP address field, type the information.

  • If you have selected both Internet and Network connection types for a remote database, select the Prompt me for which address to use each time I synchronize manually option.

  1. When all changes are complete, click Finish. For more help, press F1.
