Backing up your database
Only Administrator and Manager Roles are able to back up a database. |
To back up your database using the ACT! Premium for Web Server application
From the File menu, point to Backup, and then click Database.
In the Back Up Database dialog box, type a path or browse to the folder where you want to create the backup file.
To avoid overwriting a previous backup, give the backup file a unique name or save it to a different folder. |
(Optional) To protect the backup file from unauthorized access, select Password protect file, and then click OK.
If you chose to protect the file, type and confirm a password, and then click OK.
Backing up using other software
If you use backup software to back up ACT! data, remember that an ACT! database is not a single file. You must back up all files associated with the database. You should back up all the files in the Databases folder that begin with the database name, such as databasename.adf, databasename.alf, databasename.pad.
You should also back up the supplemental files that reside in the Databases subfolders such as attachments, templates, and reports.
