Removing old data
Removing obsolete or old data from a database helps maintain data integrity and improves system performance. The database administrator should perform this task regularly.
To complete this procedure you must have the appropriate permissions assigned to you. For more information, see About user roles and permissions. |
To remove old data
From the Tools menu, point to Database Maintenance, and then click Remove Old Data.
In the Remove Old Data dialog box, select the type and the minimum age of the data (in days) that you want to remove, and then click OK.
From the dialog box, press F1 for field definitions.
If your MSDE database is close to the 2 GB limit, it is important for you to remove old data to improve performance. |
