Looking up contacts
To look up contacts
From the Lookup menu, select one of the contact commands. For more information about the contact commands and the types of results, see Commands in the Lookup menu.
If you select All Contacts, the results immediately appear in the Contact List window, and you do not need to follow the remaining steps. |
(Optional) In the Look in this field box, from the list, select the field on which to search.
The list shows all fields that you can search in the database.
Look up the contact’s full name by selecting Contact from the list, and then typing the full name in the Search For text box. |
In the Search For box, type the word to search for or select a word from the list.
For example, to find all contacts in Amsterdam, select City from the Lookup menu and type Amsterdam. You can enter just the first few characters. For example, you can type "Ams", and ACT! Premium for Web Server will fill in Amsterdam. You can also choose an item from a drop-down list.
In the For the current lookup area, select the Replace Lookup option, and then select the Include Private Contacts and/or Include Users check boxes.
Click OK.
The new set of contacts replaces the previously found set of contacts. For example, if you use the State command to find all contacts in Texas, and then use the City command to find all contacts in London, your Texas contacts are no longer in the current lookup; only your London contacts are in the current lookup.
