Adding and removing background colors and images in layouts

To add or change background color in a layout

  1. Open a layout in the Layout Designer window.

  2. Click anywhere in the background of the layout, but do not click an object, such as a field or a field label.

  3. In the Properties Window, click the right column of the Background Color field, and then click the browse (...) button.

  4. From the Custom, Web, or System tab, select a color.

To remove the background color from a layout

  1. Open a layout in the Layout Designer window.

  2. Click anywhere in the background of the layout, but do not click an object, such as a field or a field label.

  3. In the Properties Window, click the right column of the Background Color field, and then click the browse (...) button.

  4. From the Web tab, click Transparent.

To add or change a background image in a layout

  1. Open the Properties Window in the Layout Designer.

  2. Click anywhere in the background of the layout, but do not click an object, such as a field or a field label.

  3. In the Properties Window, click the right column of the Background Image field, and then click the browse (...) button.

  4. Locate the image, and then click Open.

The image displays as the background of the layout.

  1. (Optional) In the Image Options list, select to make the background image appear as normal, tiled, or stretched across the background border.

To remove a background image from a layout

  1. Open the Properties Window in the Layout Designer.

  2. Click anywhere in the background of the image on the layout.

Do not click an object, such as a field or a field label.

  1. In the Properties Window, click the right column of the Background Image field, select the file name of the image, and then press DELETE.
