Closing and reopening opportunities

To close an opportunity

  1. From the navigation bar, click Opportunity List.

  1. Locate and double-click the opportunity you want to complete.

The Opportunity dialog box appears. For field definitions, press F1.

  1. In the Status box, select Closed - Won or Closed - Lost.

The Opportunity Info tab appears.

  1. (Optional) In the Reason field, type the reason for closing or deactivating the opportunity, or select a reason from the list, and then click OK.

The outcome is recorded in the contact's or group's History tab. You cannot edit a closed opportunity.

To reopen a completed opportunity

  1. From the navigation bar, click Opportunity List.

  2. Locate and double-click the opportunity you want to reopen.

  3. In the Status box, select Open.

The Opportunity dialog box appears. The Open Date changes to the current date, and the Close Date changes to None. For field definitions, press F1.

  1. Click OK.
