Launching an application, activity series, or URL

You can specify whether to launch an application, URL, or activity series from a field. This is known as creating a field trigger.

To set a field trigger that launches an activity series

  1. Create or modify a field. For field definitions, press F1.

  1. In the Set field triggers screen, set one of the following trigger options:

  2. To set a trigger when the value in a field is changed, in the When changing a field, launch box, select Activity Series, and then click the browse (...) button.

  3. To set a trigger when moving the cursor into the field, in the When entering a field, launch box, select Activity Series, and then click the browse (...) button.

  4. To set a trigger when moving the cursor out of the field, in the When leaving a field, launch box, select Activity Series, and then click the browse (...) button.

The Activity Series dialog box appears. For field definitions, press F1.

  1. Select the activity series you want to launch, and then click OK.

To set a field trigger that launches an application or URL

  1. Create or modify a field. For field definitions, press F1.

  3. To set a trigger when moving the cursor into the field, in the When entering a field, launch box, select Programs, and then click the browse (...) button.

  4. To set a trigger when moving the cursor out of the field, in the When leaving a field, launch box, select Programs, and then click the browse (...) button.

  1. In the Look in list, select the folder that contains the file you want to launch.

  2. If necessary, in the Files of type list, select the file type.

By default, the selected file type is "Programs". To set a URL as the launch file, select Internet Shortcut (*.url), select the URL, and then click Open.

  1. Select the file, and then click Open.
