Working with an opportunity process

To add an opportunity stage

  1. Click Add.

  2. In the Name field, type the name of the stage.

  3. In the Description field, type a description of the stage, if desired.

  4. In the Probability field, type the estimated percentage for closing the sale.

You must have at least one stage per opportunity process.

To edit an opportunity stage

  • Select the Name, Description, or Probability field, and then edit the information.

To delete an opportunity stage

  • Select the stage you want to delete, and then click Delete.

If a stage is assigned to an opportunity, you cannot delete it.

 

To import a list of opportunity stages

  1. From the Import Tasks box, click Import Opportunity Stages.

  2. Locate the opportunity stage list you want to import, and then click Open.

To export a list of opportunity stages

  1. From the Import Tasks box, click Export Opportunity Stages.

  2. Browse to the folder you want to export the product list to, select the file, and then click Save.

Working with an opportunity process

You can create and work with an opportunity process that includes a list of sales stages that you customize. You can create multiple opportunity processes, and all users can access them.

To complete this procedure, you must have the appropriate permissions assigned to you. For more information, see About user roles and permissions.

To create and work with an opportunity process

  1. From the Contacts menu, point to Opportunities, and then click Manage Process List.

For field definitions on any screen, press F1.

  1. In the Process Tasks box, click Create New Opportunity Process.

  2. Enter the process name and description.

  3. From the Customize stages for opportunity process screen, you can do the following:

  4. Add, edit, or delete an opportunity stage

  5. Import a list of opportunity stages

  6. Export a list of opportunity stages

  1. Click Finish.
