Creating opportunity graphs

  1. In the Create graph for box, select the contact or lookup option for which you want to create a graph.

  2. In the Graph box, select the status of the opportunities you want to graph.

  3. In the Display data for box, select whether to graph data for All users or Selected users, and if necessary, select the users from the list.   

  4. From the Graph by list, select whether to graph opportunities by Day, Week, Month, Year, or Quarter.

  5. From the Starting and Ending lists, select the start and end dates for the opportunities you want to use in the graph.

  6. In the Value to graph box, select whether to graph by Total or Total Quantity.

  7. (Optional) In the Chart header fields, type the details you want to include in the title of the graph.

  8. (Optional) In the Chart footer field, type the details you want to include in the footer.

  1. In the Type box, select whether to create a Bar graph or a Line graph.

  2. In the Style box, select whether to create a 3-D or 2-D graph.

  3. In the Graph size box, select the size option for the graph.

  4. In the Scale box, select whether to automatically scale the graph or to define the minimum and maximum values for the graph.

  5. To show grid lines horizontally, select Show horizontal grid lines.

  6. To show grid lines vertically, select Show vertical grid lines.

  7. From the Graph field, click the browse (...) button to select a color for the graph.

  8. From the Text field, click the browse (...) button to select a color for the graph.

  9. From the Background field, click the browse (...) button to select a color for the graph.

Creating an opportunity graph

To create an opportunity graph

  1. From the navigation bar, click Opportunity List.

  2. From the toolbar, click Opportunity Graph.

The Graph Options dialog box appears. For field definitions, press F1.

  1. Complete the fields in the General tab.

  2. Complete the fields in the Graph tab, and then click Graph.

The Opportunities Forecast Graph appears. The date range is added on the horizontal axis. The date format is determined by the short date style in Windows Regional Settings. To change the format of the date, see Windows' online Help. For field definitions, press F1.

  1. You can save, copy, or print the graph.

You can click a bar on the graph to view a lookup of the opportunities represented by the bar.
