Setting up the ACT! Network synchronization service

To set up the ACT! Network synchronization service

  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to ACT! Network Sync Service, and then click ACT! Network Sync.

  2. In the ACT! Premium for Web Network Sync Service dialog box, click Add.

  3. In the Sync Database dialog box, in the Database Machine field, type the name of the computer hosting the main database, or click Browse to locate the hosting computer.

  4. In the Database Name field, type the name of the main database, and then click OK.

  5. In the Monitor Port field, type the port number.

  6. Click Start Sync Service to manually start the service.

  7. Minimize the window.

The service will restart whenever you reboot the machine. With ACT! Premium for Web Network synchronization service running, an icon displays in the system tray. You can right-click the task bar icon and select Show/Hide.
