Turning on/off synchronization for the main database
An Administrator or Manager user of a main database must turn on the Sync Server to receive the synchronization data from a remote database(s). Even though synchronization is initiated from the remote database, the main database must be set to listen for communications to receive synchronization data from a remote database. Once the main database has been set to listen for incoming synchronizations, it will remain on unless an Administrator or Manager user turns it off.
To turn synchronization for the main database
From the main database, click Tools, point to Synchronize, and then click Accept incoming syncs.
In the Sync Server Port dialog box, the default port number of 65100 appears. If you want to use a different port number, type it, and then click OK.
A progress bar appears.
At the Server successfully started message, click OK.
A check mark before Accept incoming syncs indicates that synchronization is turned on.
To turn off synchronization for the main database
Click Tools, point to Synchronize, and then point to Accept incoming syncs.
At the Sync Server stopped message, click OK.
