Working with notes for a contact, company, or group

  1. Depending upon the type of record you want to insert the note for, display the Contact, Company or Group Detail window.

  2. Click the Notes tab at the bottom of the window, and then click the Insert Note icon.

  1. In the Insert Note dialog box, type the details of the note in the text box. Use the formatting buttons to change the appearance of the text. For more information, see Formatting text.

  1. To make the note private, select the Private check box.

  2. Click OK.

  1. In the Insert Note dialog box, click the Attach button.

  2. Browse to select the file you would like to attach, and then click Open.

  3. Click OK.

  1. In the Insert Note dialog box, click the browse (...) button next to the Associate With field.

  2. In the Associate with Group/Company dialog box, select the Groups/Subgroups or Companies/Divisions tab.

  3. Locate the group or company from the list in the left pane, and use the right arrow to select it.

The group or company name appears in the Associate with list.

  1. When finished selecting group or company, click OK.

  1. From the Notes tab, click the Insert Note icon.

  2. In the Insert Note dialog box, click the Private check box.

  3. Click OK.

  1. Click the Notes tab at the bottom of the Contact, Company or Group Detail window.

  2. Double-click the note that you want to edit.

The note opens.

  1. In the Edit Note dialog box, make changes as needed, and then click OK.

  1. From the Notes tab, open the note that has the attachment you want to remove.

  2. Click Remove next to the Attachment field.

  3. Click Yes to remove the attachment, and then click OK.

  1. Click the Notes tab at the bottom of the Contact, Company or Group Detail window.

  2. Click the note that you want to delete.

  3. Right-click, and then choose Delete Selected from the shortcut menu.

  4. Click OK to confirm your selection.

Working with notes for a contact, company, or group

You can insert a note, attach a file to a note, associate the note with a group or company, make the note private, edit a note's details, remove an attachment from a note, and delete a note.
