About annual events

You can create annual event fields that help you track events for important dates such as birthdays, anniversaries, or policy renewals. Annual event fields are set up like other date fields in ACT! Premium for Web Server and, like other fields, can have specific options selected for them, such as whether the annual event is a required field, generates a history, or is protected.

Annual events do not display on calendars, but you can set a recurring To-do activity and an alarm to notify you of them. You can also perform a lookup of annual events to set a recurring To-do activity or custom activity for the event.

If you currently use a custom field to track annual dates, but want to use the annual events feature, you must copy and replace those custom date fields, so that you do not lose data. See Copying an annual event field for more information. Additionally, it is strongly recommended that you back up your database before performing a copy and replace.
