Finding and replacing text

To find text

  1. If necessary, open the document.

The document appears in the word processor.

  1. From the Edit menu, click Find.

The Find dialog box appears.

  1. In the Find what field, type the word or phrase you want to search for.

  2. Select whether to search the document from the insertion point to the beginning of the document, Up, or from the insertion point to the end of the document, Down.

  3. (Optional) To search for words on a case-sensitive basis, select Match case.  

  4. Click Find Next to locate the next instance of the word or phrase.

To find and replace text

  1. If necessary, open the document.

The document appears in the word processor.

  1. From the Edit menu, click Replace.

The Replace dialog box appears.

  1. In the Find what field, type the word or phrase you want to search for.

  2. In the Replace with field, type the word or phrase that will replace the text you specified in the Find what field.

  3. Select whether to search the document from the insertion point to the beginning of the document, Up, or from the insertion point to the end of the document, Down.

  4. (Optional) To search for words on a case-sensitive basis, select Match case.  

  5. Click Find Next to locate the next instance of the word or phrase, and then click Replace.

or

Click Replace All to replace all instances of the specified text.

You cannot undo a Replace All operation.
