Deleting databases

If you have a database that you do not use, you should consider deleting it. Removing unused files frees system resources and improves performance.

To delete a database

1. Open the database you want to delete.

2. From the Tools menu, point to Database Maintenance, and then click Delete Database.

3. In the Delete Database dialog box, click Yes to confirm the deletion or No to cancel.

When a database is deleted, all associated files are also deleted. This includes templates, layouts and all files stored in the Attachments folder.
