About activity series

An activity series makes it easier to repeatedly schedule the same set of activities with contacts. You can schedule the series yourself or set a trigger to automatically schedule the series.

You create an activity series using the Activity Series Template Creation Wizard. You can name and describe the series, set it as public or private and add activities for yourself and other users. You can also edit or delete an existing activity series template.

The Activity Series name must be unique, and you must add at least one activity.

Once you create the template, you can schedule the series with one or more of your contacts and set the anchor date. The anchor date is the starting point from which all activities in the series are scheduled. Activities in the series either occur before or after the anchor date. Because activities are linked, if one activity is changed to another date, you can choose to also change the dates for the rest of the activities.

You can set a trigger to automatically schedule the series when you leave, enter, or change a specific field. You must first set the field trigger through Define Fields. For more information about setting a field trigger, see Launching an application, activity series, or URL.

Unless the activity series is marked private, once it has been created, it is available to users who have access to creating activities.
