Removing tabs from layouts

You can remove a tab from a layout, but removing the tab does not delete the fields on the tab.

To remove a tab from a layout

  1. Open a layout in the Layout Designer window.

  2. From the Edit menu, click Tabs.

The Edit Tabs dialog box appears. For field definitions, press F1.

  1. Select the tab, and then click Delete Tab.

  2. Click Yes to confirm the deletion.

You cannot delete system tabs from the Edit Tabs dialog box, but you can hide them. The System tabs that display on the layout depend on the kind of layout you are using (Contact, Group, or Company). System tabs are Contacts, Notes, History, Activities, Opportunities, Secondary Contacts, and Documents. For information about hiding tabs, see Hiding tabs.
