Creating remote databases
A remote database is created on a main database by a user with an Administrator or Manager role. You must create a Sync Set before you can create a remote database.
Creating a remote database requires the Administrator or Manager to give the database a unique name, assign a Sync Set for the contents, set an expiration period and options for attachments and supplemental files to synchronize, set the connection type, and build the remote database.
To create a remote database
From the Tools menu, click Synchronization Panel.
In the Admin Tasks box, click 3. Create Remote Database.
Follow the instructions on the screens, clicking Next to advance. Press F1 for more help.
Click Finish to create the remote database.
The remote database file is created and has an .rdb extension. You deliver this file to your remote users/locations.
