Checking and repairing databases

ACT! Premium Web 2005 Server

Checking and repairing databases

To promote database integrity, the system administrator should run the Check and Repair tool regularly. This process inspects the current database for errors and repairs them. After repairing the errors, it re-indexes the database storage area for maximum efficiency.

This feature does not check and repair personal supplemental files and shared files located on your local drive.

To check and repair a database

  1. Make sure the database is locked. See Locking and unlocking a database.

  2. From the Tools menu, point to Database Maintenance, and then click Check and Repair.

  3. In the Check and Repair Database dialog box, select one or both options (Integrity Check and Re-index), and then click OK.

The message "Working..." appears until the process is complete.

From the dialog box, press F1 for field definitions.
