Formatting tables

To format table properties

  1. If necessary, open the document.

The document appears in the word processor.

  1. Select the table you want to format.

  2. From the Table menu, click Table Properties.

The Table Properties dialog box appears.

  1. From the Line Width list, select the width you want to use for the line.

  2. From the Background box, select whether to avoid using a background (None), select your own background from the User Defined list, or click Other to select a color not on the User Defined list.

  3. Select the alignment option you want to use for aligning the table on the page: Top, Center, or Bottom.

  4. From the Text Distances box, select the distance you want to use between the text and the Right margin, Left margin, Top margin, and Bottom margin of the table, and then click OK.
