Setting scheduling preferences for activities

You can set preferences for default options when scheduling activities. You can customize activity appearance, customize the alarm, and set other default options.

When actually scheduling an activity, you can change any of the default options.

To set scheduling preferences for activities

  1. From the Tools menu, select Preferences.

  2. Click the Calendar & Scheduling tab, and then click the Scheduling Preferences button to open the Scheduling Preferences dialog box. For more help, press F1.

  3. In the Activity type settings area, set activity type options.

  4. To customize the alarm sound for activities, click Customize Alarms, and then set the audio notification sound.

  5. To set the appearance for cleared activities, in the When clearing activities field, select an option.

  6. To enable conflict checking when scheduling an activity, select Enable activity conflict checking.

  7. To make new activities public when creating a new activity, select Make new activities public.

  8. To create separate activities for each contact scheduled for an activity, select Create separate activities when scheduling with multiple contacts.

  9. To receive a schedule activity prompt when a new contact is created, select Prompt to schedule an activity when a new contact is created, and then click OK to save the settings.
