About ACT! Premium for Web Server e-mail
ACT! Premium for Web Server's e-mail feature lets you use your existing e-mail program with ACT! Premium for Web Server. You can address, create, and send e-mail messages from within ACT! Premium for Web Server using one of the following e-mail systems:
Microsoft Outlook 2000, 2002 or 2003
Outlook Express 5.5 or 6.0
Eudora version 5.2 or 6.0
Internet e-mail. You do not need e-mail software in addition to ACT! Premium for Web Server; however, you do need Internet access. ACT! Premium for Web Server includes a built-in SMTP/POP3 e-mail client that can be used for Internet e-mail.
Due to limitations in Outlook Express and Eudora, some of ACT! Premium for Web Server's e-mail features are not available if you use those systems with ACT! Premium for Web Server. With ACT! Premium for Web Server e-mail preferences, you select an e-mail system to use with ACT! Premium for Web Server, set up multiple e-mail systems if you work in the office or offsite, set composing options for e-mail messages and specify other options.
With ACT! Premium for Web Server e-mail, you can send e-mail messages to one or more contacts. You can attach files, contact, group, and company records, or activities you schedule to your messages. You can also use mail merge to send messages to several contacts, or to a single contact. You can manage the messages you send to and receive from contacts and record a history of the e-mail to your contact, group, and company records.
After you receive and read an e-mail message, you can attach the message to a contact, group, or company record, create a contact record from the sender, or create an activity from the message. Users with a Standard role and above can import, or merge, an attached contact, group, or company record from an e-mail message.
If you use Microsoft Outlook to send and receive e-mail messages, you can integrate your ACT! Premium for Web Server address book with Outlook to send e-mail message to ACT! Premium for Web Server contacts. See About Outlook address book integration for more information.
You can also work with e-mail when you are offline.
A contact must have an e-mail address to send a message to. One way to check for contacts with no e-mail addresses is from the Lookup menu, use the E-mail Address command, and search on Empty field. |
