Formatting text in report templates

To format text in a report template using the toolbar

  1. Create or modify a report template.

The report appears in the Report Designer.

  1. Add text, or select the text object that you want to format.

  2. Use the buttons on the toolbar to do the following:

  3. To change the font, select the font from the list, and then select the font size.

  4. To change the way the font looks, click the Bold, Italic, or Underline button.

  5. To change the alignment, click the Align Left, Align Center, or Align Right button.

  6. To change the font color, from the Font Color list, select the font color you want to use for the text.

  7. To fill the background of the text object with a specific color, from the Fill Color list, select the color you want to use for the background.

  8. To specify the border color for the text object, from the Border Color list, select the color you want to use.

You will only see a border for the text object if you picked a border from the Border Style list.

  • To specify a border for the text object, from the Border Style list, select the border you want to use.

To format text in a report template using the Properties Window

  1. Create or modify a report template.

The report appears in the Report Designer.

  1. Add text, or select the text object that you want to format.

  2. If the Properties Window is not visible, from the View menu, select Properties Window.

  3. From the Properties box, expand the Font attributes by clicking the plus sign to the left of the Font field.

  4. From the lists, select the font attributes. For information about any of the font attributes, see Attribute properties.
