Keep a group of records together on a page

  1. Open the report in Design view.
  2. Click Sorting And Grouping Button image on the toolbar to display the Sorting And Grouping box.
  3. Click the field or expression for the group level that you want to keep together.
  4. In the group properties section of the Sorting And Grouping box, set the KeepTogether property to one of the following settings:

    Whole Group The group header, all detail records, and the group footer are printed on the same page.

    With First Detail The group header is printed on a page only if the first detail record also fits on the same page.

  5. Double-click the report selector.
  6. Set the GrpKeepTogether property to Per Page.

Notes

  • If you want to keep the data in one section together, set the KeepTogether property for that section to Yes.
  • The Alphabetical List of Products report in the Northwind sample database keeps the products for each letter together as a group. To view this report, open the Northwind database in the Samples subfolder of your Microsoft Office folder, and then open the Alphabetical List of Products report in Design view.
