Change the spacing between controls
On a data access page, to select multiple controls and adjust the space between them, you must have Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or later installed.
- Open a form, report, or data access page in Design view.
- Select the controls that you want to adjust by holding down the SHIFT key and clicking each control. For controls with attached labels, select the controls, not their labels. If you want to space controls evenly, select at least three controls.
- Do one of the following:
Space controls evenly
- On the Format menu, point to Horizontal Spacing or Vertical Spacing, and then click Make Equal.
Microsoft Access spaces the controls evenly. Only the middle control or controls actually adjust, however; the outside controls don't change location.
Increase or decrease space
- On the Format menu, point to Horizontal Spacing or Vertical Spacing, and then click Increase or Decrease.
When the space between controls is increased or decreased, the leftmost (horizontal spacing) and highest (vertical spacing) controls don't change positions.
Remove the space between controls on a data access page
- On the Format menu, point to Horizontal Spacing or Vertical Spacing, and then click Remove. The leftmost or top control remains in place.
- On the Format menu, point to Horizontal Spacing or Vertical Spacing, and then click Make Equal.
