Specifying absolute path in the connection string of a page

If you specify an absolute path in the connection string of a data access page, such as "N:\data\Sales.mdb", the page might not be able to connect to the data through the network at a later point in time. A drive letter can vary on a computer or may not always be defined, so using absolute path is not a reliable way to specify connection information.

Make sure you use a universal naming convention (UNC) path in the connection string, such as \\Sources\Sales\Sales.mdb. A UNC path is a reliable and consistent way for the page to locate data sources on a network.
