- On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the File Locations tab.
- In the File types list, click Documents.
- Click Modify.
- To select an existing folder to display as the default working folder, locate and click the folder you want in the folder list.
To create a new folder to display as the default working folder, click Create New Folder , and then type a name for the new folder in the Name box.
Rename or move the My Documents folder
- Save and close all Microsoft Office files, and then close all Office programs.
- In Microsoft Windows Explorer or My Computer, move or copy any files you want to find quickly to the My Documents folder, and then do one of the following:
- To rename the My Documents folder, right-click it, and then click Rename on the shortcut menu. Type the new name for the folder, and then press ENTER.
- To move the My Documents folder, drag it to a new location.
