Import an XML document into an existing mapping
Note XML features, except for saving files in the XML Spreadsheet format, are available only in Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 and Microsoft Office Excel 2003.
- Select a cell in the mapped range to which you want to import XML data.
- On the List toolbar, click Import.
- In the Look in list, click the drive, folder, or Internet location that contains the XML data file you want to import.
- In the folder list, locate and open the folder that contains the file.
- Click the file, and then click Import.
By default, existing data in a mapped range will be overwritten when you import data. Follow these steps if you want to append new data to the existing data when you import data:
- Select a cell in the mapped range.
- On the List toolbar, click XML Map Properties.
- Click Append new data to existing XML lists and then click OK.
