Find and replace special right-to-left characters
This feature is available only if you have enabled support for right-to-left languages by using Microsoft Office Language Settings. If you have enabled this type of support, you can find and replace right-to-left text that contains diacritics, kashidas, and alef hamzas.
- On the Edit menu, click Replace.
- In the Find what box, type the right-to-left text including characters such as kashidas, alef hamzas, or diacritics, and then press CTRL+right SHIFT.
Make sure you press the SHIFT key on the right side of your keyboard.
- In the Replace with box, type the replacement right-to-left text, and then press CTRL+right SHIFT.
- Under Search options, select the options you want.
To match right-to-left text with characters, under Advanced, select one or more of the check boxes, including Match diacritics, Match kashida, and Match alef hamza.

Find and replace right-to-left text in the current Web page
Do one of the following:
- To manually replace each occurrence of text in the current page, click Find Next, and then click Replace.
- To replace all occurrences of text in the current page at one time, click Replace All.
Find and replace right-to-left text in a Web site
- Do one of the following:
- To search for text in only those pages that are currently open, click Find.
- To search for text in only selected pages or in all pages of a Web site, click Find in Site.
When you search for text in the pages of a Web site, Microsoft FrontPage displays a list that contains occurrences of the text you searched for.
- To go to the first occurrence of the text in the Web site, selected pages, or open pages, double-click a page in that list.
Notes
- For the Arabic language, FrontPage supports finding and replacing diacritics, alef hamzas, and kashidas.
- For the Hebrew language, FrontPage supports finding and replacing diacritics.
