Add a hidden field to a form

Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003

Add a hidden field to a form

To add hidden fields to a form, follow these steps:

  1. Open the page that contains the form.
  2. In Page view, at the bottom of the document window, click Design Button image.
  3. Right-click a form field, and then click Form Properties.
  4. In the Form Properties dialog box, click Advanced.
  5. Click Add.
  6. In the Name box, type the name of the new hidden field.

For your form to work correctly, you need to use a unique name for this form field.

  7. In the Value box, type the value that is to be sent to the form handler.

Note  You do not need to enter a value if you are using hidden fields to store information (for example, from one page to another in a multi-page form), or to collect additional data from your site visitors (for example, a login name or a timestamp).
