Create a new frames page template based on an existing one

Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003

  • On the File menu, click New.
  • In the New task pane, under New page, click more page templates.
  • Click the Frames Pages tab.
  • Click the frames page template that you want to base your template on, and then click OK.
  • Modify the frames page to create a custom template.
  • On the File menu, click Save As.
  • In the Save as type list, click FrontPage Template.
  • In the File name box, type the file name for your custom template, and then click Save.
  • In the Save As Template dialog box, in the Title box, type the name you want to use as a title for the template. This is the title displayed in the list of templates on the Frames Pages tab in the Page Templates dialog box.
  • In the Description box, type text describing what the template does. This text is shown in the Description area of the Frames Pages tab.

    If you want to add the template to the current Web site to make it available to other authors working on the same Web site, select the Save Template in Current Web check box in the Save As Template dialog box. FrontPage creates a Shared Templates folder in the current Web site and adds the new template to it.
