Equalize the height and width of rows and columns

If you have a table of varying row heights and column widths, you can equalize the width or height of selected rows or columns.

  1. In Page view, at the bottom of the document window, click Design Button image.
  2. Do one or both of the following:

Make rows the same height

  1. Place the insertion point in a column where the rows are uneven.
  2. On the Table menu, point to Select, and then click Column.
  3. On the Tables toolbar, click Distribute Rows Evenly .

    If the Tables toolbar is hidden, on the View menu, point to Toolbars, and then click Tables.

Make columns the same width

  1. Place the insertion point in a row where the columns are uneven.
  2. On the Table menu, point to Select, and then click Row.
  3. On the Tables toolbar, click Distribute Columns Evenly .

    If the Tables toolbar is hidden, on the View menu, point to Toolbars, and then click Tables.
