Specify authoring mode settings

1. On the Tools menu, click Page Options, and then click the Authoring tab.
2. In the FrontPage and SharePoint technologies list, select the authoring mode you want.

Note  When you turn on support for author-time Web components, support for link bars and shared borders is not automatically turned on as well. To turn support on or off for link bars or shared borders, select or clear the Navigation or Shared Borders check box.
