Add or remove conditional formatting for a Data View

  1. In Page view, at the bottom of the document window, click Design Button image.
  2. In a Data View, specify the page element or field that you want to show or hide based on the conditioning you specify.

    Do one of the following:
    • Select a field in the data view   When you apply conditional formatting, the field will show, hide, or display custom formatting for the rows in your data view that match the conditions you specify.
    • Add text next to a field in the data view   When you apply conditional formatting, the text will show, hide, or display custom formatting for the rows in your data view that match the conditions you specify.
    • Insert an image next to a field in the data view   When you apply conditional formatting, the image will show, hide, or display custom formatting for the rows in your data view that match the condition you specify.
  3. In the Conditional Formatting task pane, click Create, and then specify the action you want.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • To show content based on the conditions you specify, click Show Content.
    • To hide content based on the conditions you specify, click Hide Content.
    • To apply formatting based on the conditions you specify, click Apply formatting.
  5. Specify the conditions you want.

    1. In the Conditional Formatting task pane, click Create, and then click Show Content.
    2. In the Condition Criteria dialog box, click Click here to add a new clause.
    3. Click the Field name box for the active row, and then select the field that contains the values you want.
    4. Click the Comparison box, and then select the type of comparison you want.
    5. Click the Value box, and then type or select the option you want.
    6. Click Advanced if you want to edit the XSL for the condition.
    7. If you selected Apply Formatting in step 4 of the main procedure, specify the formatting you want.
