Resize a table, cell, row, or column

  1. In Page view, at the bottom of the document window, click Design Button image.
  2. Do one of the following:

ShowResize a table

  1. Right-click the table, and then click Table Properties on the shortcut menu.
  2. To specify width, select the Specify width check box, select In pixels or In percent, and type a value for the width of the table.
  3. To specify height, select the Specify height check box, select In pixels or In percent, and type a value for the height of the table.

Notes

  • If a table is sized in pixels, its size remains constant, regardless of the size of the page that it is displayed on.
  • If a table is sized as a percentage of the browser window, its size changes depending on the size of the window.
  • If height or width is not specified, the table is sized according to its content.

ShowResize a cell

  1. Place the insertion point in the cell.
  2. Right-click, and then click Cell Properties on the shortcut menu.
  3. To specify width, select the Specify width check box, select In pixels or In percent, and type a value for the width of the selected cell.
  4. To specify height, select the Specify height check box, select In pixels or In percent, and type a value for the height of the selected cell.

ShowResize a row

  1. Place the insertion point in a cell that is in the row that you want to resize.
  2. On the Table menu, point to Select and click Row.
  3. Right-click the row, and then click Cell Properties on the shortcut menu.
  4. To specify width, select the Specify width check box, select In pixels or In percent, and type a value for the width of the row.
  5. To specify height, select the Specify height check box, select In pixels or In percent, and type a value for the height of the row.

ShowResize a column

  1. Place the insertion point in a cell that is in the column that you want to resize.
  2. On the Table menu, point to Select and click Column.
  3. Right-click the column, and then click Cell Properties on the shortcut menu.
  4. To specify width, select the Specify width check box, select In pixels or In percent, and type a value for the width of the column.
  5. To specify height, select the Specify height check box, select In pixels or In percent, and type a value for the height of the column.

Note  If the content (text, images, etc.) of a table or one of its elements is greater (bigger, longer, wider, etc.) than the specified value, the table or its elements will grow to accommodate that content.
