Convert text to a table
- In Page view, at the bottom of the document window, click Design .
- In the document window, type separator characters where you want to separate text into columns and rows.
For example, you can indicate what text will appear in a row, by separating the text into paragraphs. You can also indicate what text will appear in a column, by separating the text with symbols that you specify, such as commas and periods.
- Select the text that you want to convert to a table.
- On the Table menu, point to Convert, and then click Text To Table.
- In the Convert Text to Table dialog box, select the character you used to separate the columns.
