Convert text to a table

  1. In Page view, at the bottom of the document window, click Design Button image.
  2. In the document window, type separator characters where you want to separate text into columns and rows.

    For example, you can indicate what text will appear in a row, by separating the text into paragraphs. You can also indicate what text will appear in a column, by separating the text with symbols that you specify, such as commas and periods.

  3. Select the text that you want to convert to a table.
  4. On the Table menu, point to Convert, and then click Text To Table.
  5. In the Convert Text to Table dialog box, select the character you used to separate the columns.
