Change the properties of a graphic

  1. In Page view, at the bottom of the document window, click Design Button image.
  2. Right-click the graphic, and then click Change Picture File Type on the shortcut menu.

If the graphic has one or more hot spots, right-click an area of the graphic that is not a hot spot.

  3. Change the properties for one of the following:

ShowThe graphic is in JPEG format

    1. Under Settings, clear the Use image as is check box.
    2. To specify the quality of the JPEG, enter a value from 1 to 100 in the Quality box. This allows you to produce a smaller size file of the graphic, thereby lowering the quality of the graphic.
    3. In the Progressive passes box, enter the number of progressive passes you want Web browsers to make.

Some Web browsers do not support progressive passes.

ShowThe graphic is in GIF format

    • To specify whether the graphic should be interlaced, under Settings, select or clear the Interlaced check box.
    • To remove the transparency, if a transparent color has been set, clear the Transparent check box.

Note  If you want to change the properties of a PNG graphic, you must use a graphics editing program.
