Position a page element

  1. In Page view, at the bottom of the document window, click Design Button image.
  2. Select the page element you want.
  3. On the Format menu, click Position.
  4. Specify the type of positioning you want.

    • To fix the position box at the insertion point — relative positioning — under Positioning style, click Relative.
    • To enable the position box to be placed precisely on the page — absolute positioning — under Positioning style, click Absolute.

  5. Specify any additional settings that are relevant to the position of the element.

    ShowHow?

    • To set pixel coordinates, under Location and size, specify a value in the Left and Top boxes.
    • Under Wrapping style, specify how you want the page elements to wrap around the position box.
    • To specify the z-order, which is the element's position in the layers of the page, specify a value in the Z-Order box. A positive value means that the element is in front of the main text-flow layer (layer 0), and a negative value means the item is behind it.
