Set the default settings of a GIF or JPEG file

When you paste a graphic other than a GIF or JPEG into a page and then save it, Microsoft FrontPage automatically attempts to convert the graphic to a GIF if it has 256 bits of color or less, or to a JPEG if it has more than 256 bits of color.

To set the default settings for these file types, do the following:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Page Options, and then click the Picture tab.
  2. To define the way a file type is converted by default, click File Type Settings, and then select the options you want.
  3. Specify the default settings that you want.
