Add a Web package solution

  1. On the File menu, click New.
  2. In the New task pane, under New Web site, click Web package solutions.
  3. Click the Web package solution that you want, and do one of the following:
    • To deploy the Web package on a server that is running Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services, type the URL in the Specify the location of the new Web site box, or click Browse.
    • To add the Web package solution to the current Web site, click Add to current Web site.
  4. To add the Web package to a Web site that uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) for encrypted transactions, select the Encrypted connection required (SSL) check box.
  5. Click OK.

  6. In the Items from Web package to import box, clear the check boxes for the items you do not want.

    Note  If you clear check boxes for essential files, your Web package solution will not work.

  7. Click Import.
  8. In the Security Warning dialog box, do one of the following:
    • Click Yes to continue importing the Web package.
    • Click No to cancel the import.
    • Click More Info to view the security certificate for the Web package.
