Set the encoding language for saving or loading a page

  • In Page view, at the bottom of the document window, click Design Button image.
  • Right-click the page, click Page Properties on the shortcut menu, and then click the Language tab.
  • Under HTML encoding, do the following:
    • In the Save the document as list, click the encoding that you want to save the active page in.
    • If the active page is not displaying correctly, in the Reload the current document as list, click the encoding that you want to load the active page in.
  • Warning  If the active page displays incorrectly, the file may become corrupt if you save the page over the original version.

    ShowTips

    • For pages containing more than one language, you can use Unicode. This encoding contains the basic Roman character set, plus characters from languages throughout the world. Unicode corresponds to the Multilingual (UTF-8) option.
    • To display the euro character correctly, you must set your page encoding to either, US/Western European or Unicode.
