About converting text to a table

To convert text to a table, you must first decide how you will separate the text that you want converted. This determines how it will fit into the rows and columns of the table.

You can indicate what text will appear in a row, by separating the text into paragraphs. You can indicate what text will appear in a column, by separating the text with symbols that you specify, such as commas and periods.

For example, the following text is separated by using paragraph breaks to indicate rows, and commas to indicate columns:

Name, City, Age
Jeff Smith, Redmond, 30
