Add a style to a cascading style sheet
In Page view, do one of the following:
- To add a style to an external
cascading style sheet (CSS), open the .css file.
External CSS files have a .css extension.
- To add a style to an embedded CSS, open the Web page that contains the CSS.
- To add a style to an external
cascading style sheet (CSS), open the .css file.
- On the Format menu, click Style, and then click New.
In the Name (selector) box, enter a name for the new style.
Do not type spaces in the style name.
- In the Style type box, select whether the style will be a Paragraph or Character style.
- Click Format, and then specify the formatting characteristics for the new style:

To set font properties
— such as the font family or color, or character spacing — click Font. -
To set alignment, indentation, or spacing, click Paragraph.

To set borders and shading, click Border.

To set the style of bullets or numbering, click Numbering.

To set positioning properties
— such as wrapping style, location, or z-order (an element's position in the layers of the page) — click Position.

- Select the options you want.
- You have to attach a CSS to a document before the styles will be available for that document.
