Add a horizontal line

You can use a horizontal line to separate text or to add an accent. After you add a horizontal line, you can modify its properties to change its width, height, alignment, and color.

  1. In Page view, at the bottom of the document window, click Design Button image.
  2. Place the insertion point where you want to insert a line.
  3. On the Insert menu, click Horizontal Line.
  4. To modify the appearance of the horizontal line, double-click the horizontal line, and then do one or more of the following:
    • To increase or decrease the width of the line, enter a different pixel or pecentage value in the Width box, and then click Percent of window or Pixels, depending on the type of value you entered.
    • To increase or decrease the height of the line, enter a different pixel value in the Height box.
    • To align the line left, center, or right on the page, under Alignment, click the alignment option you want.
    • To add color to the line, click a color in the Color list.
    • If you want the line to appear solid, select the Solid line (no shading) check box.
  5. To apply a custom style or other formatting to the line, click Style, and then select the options you want.

Note   If you apply a theme to a Web page by using a version of Microsoft FrontPage earlier than Office FrontPage 2003, you can change only the alignment of a line graphic that is part of a theme.
