Add a sound to a hover button

Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003

Add a sound to a hover button

This procedure applies only to a hover button that you created by using an earlier version of Microsoft FrontPage.

  1. In Page view, at the bottom of the document window, click Design Button image.
  2. Right-click the hover button that you want to add a sound effect to, and then click Hover Button Properties on the shortcut menu.
  3. Click Custom.
  4. In the Play sound area, do one of the following:
    • To play the sound effect when a site visitor clicks the hover button, click Browse next to the On click box, locate and click the sound file, and then click Open.
    • To play the sound effect when a site visitor points to the hover button, click Browse next to the On hover box, locate and click the sound file, and then click Open.

Note  Because hover buttons are actually Java applets, you can only use .au format sound files for sound effects; you cannot use .midi or .wav files. Furthermore, the .au files must be in 8-bit, 8000 Hz, mono, u-law format.
