Set the properties of an advanced control

  1. In Page view, at the bottom of the document window, click Design Button image.
  2. Right-click the advanced control, and then do one of the following on the shortcut menu:
    • If the advanced control is a design-time control (DTC), click Design-Time Control Properties.
    • If the advanced control is an ActiveX control, click ActiveX Control Properties.
  3. Click the Object Tag tab, and then do any of the following:

    • To specify a name for the advanced control, type a name in the Name box.

    • To specify the alignment of the advanced control, click a value in the Alignment list.

    • To specify the border thickness (in pixels) of the advanced control, type a value (in pixels) in the Border thickness box.

    • To specify the horizontal spacing (in pixels) of the advanced control, type a value in the Horizontal spacing box.

    • To specify the vertical spacing (in pixels) of the advanced control, type a value in the Vertical spacing box.

    • To specify the width (in pixels) of the advanced control, type a value in the Width box.

    • To specify the height (in pixels) of the advanced control, type a value in the Height box.

    • To specify alternative text that will be displayed in Web browsers without ActiveX support, type the text in the HTML box.

    • To specify a network or Internet location from which the control can be automatically installed, type the path in the Code Source box.

  4. Click the Parameters tab, and then do one of the following:

    • To add a parameter, click Add, select the options you want, and then click OK.

    • To modify a parameter, click Modify, select the options you want, and then click OK.
    • To remove a parameter, click Remove, select the options you want, and then click OK.

  5. If additional properties are available for the advanced control, set any additional properties you want. Because an advanced control may have unique properties, see the documentation for the advanced control to learn about its specific properties.
