Change the font for a specific language

The feature or some of the options described in this Help topic are only available if support for an East Asian, South Asian, or right-to-left language is enabled through Microsoft Office Language Settings.

Use this feature if you want to change the font for each type of script in mixed text strings.

  1. Select the text or the placeholder containing the text you want to change.
  2. On the Format menu, click Font.
  3. Do one or more of the following:
    • If you want to change the font for Latin text— for example, English or French— click the arrow next to the Latin text font box, select the font, and then select any additional font options.

    • If you want to change the font for East Asian text— for example, Japanese or Korean— click the arrow next to the Asian text font box, select the font, and then select any additional font options.

    • If you want to change the font for right-to-left or South Asian text— for example, Arabic or Thai— click the arrow next to the Complex scripts font box, select the font, and then select any additional font options.
